Summary of key points

1. What information do we process?

RepJot is designed to work without an account. Most information created while using the app remains in the app’s local storage on your iPhone or Apple Watch.

Information you create in the app

• Workout templates, template names, exercise selections, planned sets, rest settings, and custom exercise names.
• Workout history, including dates, duration, exercises, sets, repetitions, weights, time-based exercise values, completion status, and workout notes.
• App preferences such as weight units, rest timers, sound, haptics, appearance, and language preferences.

This information is used to provide the workout logging, history, and progress features. The current version stores it locally and does not send it to a RepJot server.

Diagnostics

RepJot keeps a short local diagnostic log to help explain failures and synchronize an iPhone and Apple Watch. Depending on the event, it may contain timestamps, platform, app and operating-system versions, sync state, event counts, identifiers used to recover an in-progress operation, and error descriptions. The in-app export notice is designed to exclude heart rate, active energy, weight, and repetitions from the exported diagnostic log.

Information we do not request

The current version does not request access to contacts, photos, camera, location, microphone, or advertising identifiers. It does not require you to provide your name, email address, or a RepJot account to use the app.

2. HealthKit and Apple Watch

HealthKit permissions

RepJot requests HealthKit permission only when you start a workout that uses the health feature. With your permission, the app may:

• Read heart-rate and active-energy information during a workout so it can display live metrics and a workout summary.
• Write a traditional strength-training workout to Apple Health when you start and complete the corresponding workout.

RepJot may keep a local workout summary, such as average heart rate, active energy, and the Apple Health workout identifier, so that your in-app history can show the result. RepJot does not copy your HealthKit store to a RepJot server.

You can grant or revoke HealthKit permissions in Apple’s Health settings. If you decline permission, the app remains usable for local workout logging, although health-based features may be unavailable.

Apple Watch connectivity

When you use a paired Apple Watch, RepJot uses Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework to transfer workout templates, settings, active-session state, workout summaries, and limited diagnostic information between your paired devices. This is device-to-device communication; the current version does not route this information through a RepJot cloud service.

RepJot does not use HealthKit information for advertising, targeted marketing, data brokerage, or sale. We do not disclose HealthKit information to third parties.

3. How do we use information?

We use information processed by RepJot only as needed to:

• Provide workout templates, training sessions, rest timers, history, summaries, and Apple Watch coordination.
• Read and write the HealthKit data described above when you grant the relevant permission.
• Remember your local settings and restore an in-progress workout after an interruption.
• Diagnose errors when you choose to export diagnostic information for support.
• Process and verify RepJot Pro purchases through Apple’s StoreKit services.
• Comply with legal obligations, protect the service, and respond to a request you send to us.

We do not use your workout or health information to infer sensitive traits, serve ads, or make decisions about your eligibility for services.

4. When and with whom do we share information?

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal, workout, or health information. The current version does not transmit your workout history to our servers and does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Apple system services

RepJot relies on Apple services that are necessary for platform features, including HealthKit for health permissions and workouts, WatchConnectivity for paired-device communication, and StoreKit for purchases. Apple processes information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.

RepJot does not currently use CloudKit or a RepJot-operated online account. If your device or its backup settings cause app data to be included in an Apple backup service, Apple controls that backup processing under your settings and Apple’s policies.

Sharing you initiate

If you export diagnostics using the system share sheet, the information is sent only to the destination you choose. The receiving app, service, or person controls what happens after you share it. We receive diagnostic information only if you choose to send it to us, for example in a support request.

Legal and business requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or our service. If the ownership of the app changes, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law and an updated privacy notice.

5. How long do we keep information?

Because the current version is local-first, information in the app generally remains on your devices until you delete it in RepJot, delete the app, or erase the device. You can delete RepJot’s local templates and workout records from the app’s Data settings. Removing records from RepJot does not automatically remove a workout already written to Apple Health; manage that record separately in Apple’s Health app.

Locally stored diagnostic logs are short-lived and capped by the app. If you send diagnostics to us, we retain them only for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate your request, improve reliability, or comply with law, after which we delete or de-identify them when practical.

Apple may retain information processed by HealthKit, StoreKit, Apple Watch connectivity, or Apple backup services according to your settings and Apple’s own policies.

6. How do we keep information safe?

We use Apple platform storage and permission controls and limit the information RepJot handles to what is needed for its features. You should keep your devices updated, use a passcode, and review HealthKit permissions in Apple’s Health settings.

No device, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If you choose to export or share a diagnostic file, protect the destination and recipient carefully.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

You can control RepJot’s access and local data through the app and your device:

• Change or revoke HealthKit permissions in Apple’s Health settings.
• Delete RepJot templates and workout records from the app’s Data settings.
• Delete Apple Health workouts separately in Apple’s Health app.
• Choose whether to export diagnostics and where to send an exported file.
• Remove the app and its local data through your device’s normal app controls.

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may give you additional rights, such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. Since we generally do not maintain a server-side account or copy of your workout history, many requests can be handled directly on your device. You can still contact us using the details below, and we will consider requests under applicable law.

8. Children’s privacy

RepJot is a general fitness application and is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a RepJot account or online form. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can assess and delete it when required.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy when RepJot’s features, data practices, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top will show when the policy was revised. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where required by law.

This policy describes the current local-first implementation. If we later add CloudKit sync, an online account, analytics, advertising, or another material data flow, we will update this policy and the app’s privacy disclosures before relying on that new flow.
